Correla are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join Correla's SaaS team.

 

Salary: circa £80,000 (advertised salary achievable for a candidate fulfilling all role criteria)

About the Role

  • Technical leadership: Provide guidance and direction to a team of engineers, ensuring alignment with technical goals, architecture, and best practices being a technical authority with Python (Django) and React (Next.js).
  • People management: Support the growth and development of your team through regular coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
  • Delivery ownership: Take responsibility for planning, delivering, and maintaining high-quality software solutions that meet business and customer needs.
  • Collaboration: Partner with product, design, and other stakeholders to define requirements and deliver projects effectively.
  • Engineering excellence: Champion best practices in software engineering, driving improvements in quality, testing, deployment, and observability.
  • Problem resolution: Act as a key point of escalation for complex technical or delivery challenges, working with the team to identify and implement solutions.
  • Innovation and continuous improvement: Foster a culture of experimentation and learning, encouraging the team to explore new tools, technologies, and methodologies.

About You

 

  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and inspire a team of engineers, balancing technical guidance with people management.
  • Technical expertise: Strong understanding of modern software engineering principles, including system design, architecture, and delivery pipelines, regardless of specific programming languages.
  • Collaboration and communication: Excellent skills in building relationships with stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams, ensuring alignment and transparency.
  • Delivery focus: Experience delivering complex projects with a focus on timelines, quality, and customer outcomes.
  • Continuous improvement: A proactive mindset to identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and team dynamics.
  • Cloud and DevOps: Strong familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) and DevOps practices such as CI/CD, monitoring, and automation.
  • Problem-solving: Ability to navigate ambiguity, break down complex challenges, and implement practical solutions.
